For those with questions about how to support a grieving child here are some helpful handouts you can download for free
My favorite definition of grief is; the outward emotional response to loss with no official timeline. We grieve in unique ways to us as individuals and in our own time. Be kind to yourself and accept the journey. This will bring peace during the pain.
Some of the many losses that can cause grief:
- death of person or animal
- change in job/school/home
- empty nest
- change in identity
- loss of a plan for the future
- chronic illness/pain
- and many many more...
Here is an article on the grief we may all be feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic that I found helpful.
